Neelam Kothari reveals being petrified of 90s media
Talking about the media in the 90s era, Neelam Kothari revealed that she is petrified of them. She said, “In those days, it was just so different—it was more carefree, with less judgment. Let me put it this way: yes, we had critics reviewing our films, and there were a few film magazines, of course. We were petrified of them, honestly—really petrified. The gossip and the items that kept reappearing were a big part of that fear. Sometimes, the articles that were written and published weren’t cross-checked; they were just put out there. It was something I was very scared of. “
She concluded, “But otherwise, there was a simplicity and innocence back then that I loved and truly miss. That said, social media today comes with its own pros and cons. On the one hand, it’s great for someone like me who’s in retail and jewellery—it’s excellent for my brand. It’s also great for actors, allowing them to put themselves out there, gain endorsements, and leverage opportunities. Like everything else, it has its pros and cons.”
